How could I distract thoughts that cause the possible potential of an unresourceful state?
These are some ideas I found on the web from a Transformational Coach, author of self help e-books and publisher of a monthly newsletter. I need more ideas please. (If your ideas are really good you could even publish an e-book yourself. Think about it. )
This is what the transformational coach and writer of e-books and monthly newsletter author suggests.
• Read the white or yellow telephone pages – this will keep you busy for days on end.
• Choose a small area of garden and count the number of ants, and the species (apparently there are thousands), that run through in a four hour period.
• Count how many tiles you have in the bathroom and kitchen, and then do the same thing backwards.
Basically, all he is saying is that changing your perspective and breaking routine helps foster creativity. Paying attention to things we usually ignore is one way to do it.
Take a favorite photograph and contemplate for an hour while looking at it upside down. Walk backwards to the other end of the house. Give flowers to a total stranger and wish them a nice day. Set the table for dinner but put the dinner plates on everyones chair (assuming you don't eat alone). Put green dye in your scrambled eggs. Wear your clothes inside out all day long. Go to the library and pick out a book at random and read it cover to cover. Write a letter to yourself, give it to someone you trust and have them mail it to you a year later. Ask a homeless person to tell you a joke. Tell him that if he can make you laugh you'll give him $10 and if he can't, he has to give you $1. Don't forget to ask his name. Buy the largest life-size teddy bear you can find and ride around all day on public transportation with it. Go 24 hours without sleep. Go 24 hours without food. Go 3 weeks without something you normally do, use or eat every day. Walk 20 miles. Etc.
These are all things I have done. If nothing else it is good for the spirit to climb out of the rut of routine once in awhile.
Good reason Do Not Call complaints still at top of Floridians' beefs: telemarketers from hell (St. Petersburg Times)
**Wake up and good morning**. For the third year in a row, **complaints about
telemarketing and from "Do Not Call" list subscribers topped the list** of
consumer beefs the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
received in 2011. In all last year, **41,961 complaints were received by the
state**. That's **up 9 percent** from 2010.
I don't know about you but putting myself on the state's Do Not Call list
seems to have become pointless over the years. Most of my calls at home are
telemarketers now. Still, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer
Services maintains a Do Not Call list and those of you in Florida who do not
wish to receive sales calls may have their residential, mobile or paging
device telephone number included on this list. More details on how this works
here.
Good luck. Here's one 2011 tale of ...
