Latest Accessories Make Building Surround Sound Systems A Breeze
Multi-channel audio has become mainstream and vendors have come up with many types of basic and more sophisticated technologies including wireless surround speakers, virtual surround sound to simplify the setup of home theater products. I am going to look at a few of the latest technologies that were designed to make installing home theater systems a breeze. I will point out what to look out for when making your buying decision.
As in the past setting up a TV has been relatively straightforward, the emergence of multi-channel audio has made installing home theater systems a great deal more difficult by requiring a number of external speakers to create surround sound. In case of 5.1 surround, 6 speakers are used: center, left and right front, left and right rear and a subwoofer. Newer 7.1 systems require a total number of 8 speakers by adding 2 extra side speakers.

The signal processing of these virtual surround systems is based on a standard model which was measured with a standard ear. However, virtual surround will not function equally well for each human.
One more solution for simplifying home theater setups and eliminating long speaker cord runs is to employ wireless surround sound devices or wireless loudspeakers. A wireless solution will generally include a transmitter component that connects to the TV or source in addition to wireless amplifiers that will be connected to the remote speakers. The transmitter will normally have amplified speaker inputs along with line-level inputs and come with a volume control to adjust it to the source audio level.
Whereas a number of wireless speaker kits have a wireless amplifier that connects to two speakers, other products offer individual wireless amplifiers for each speaker. The most basic wireless products use FM transmission. FM transmission is susceptible to noise and sound degradation. More advanced devices make use of digital audio transmission to perfectly maintain the original audio. In multi-channel audio products, it is crucial to pick a wireless option with a latency of only several milliseconds. This will make sure that the sound of all loudspeakers is in perfect sync. products, Samsung's earliest preview for your AV pleasure is an updated range
of HTIB systems and sound bars, as well as two new Audio Docks that support
Apple devices as well as its own Galaxy S phones and players. The DA-E750
Audio Dock (pictured above) is the first to include Samsung's "hybrid vacuum
tube amplifier technology" which it claims raises the bar for mainstream audio
products, by delivering the clear sound output of digital combined with the
natural sound of a vacuum tube in its preamp. Both docks will play from and
charge both Samsung and Apple hardware, as well as stream music wirelessly via
AllShare or AirPlay, although the DA-E670 lacks that high end vacuum tube
tech.
