What is it for?
As with all instability products, the fact that when you use them, they move, you obtain an additional amount of muscle recruitment and therefore benefits of doing physical exercises.

How do you use BOSU?
A good way to use the BOSU is to take traditional actions you are previously familiar with, for example press ups and lunges, and once your students have gained a level of efficiency on those workouts, begin an added challenge of performing them on a BOSU surface. From here squats and lunges, and the challenge and activity level is improved because you are exercising against an unstable surface. As the moment you are making is in contact with the BOSU, you have got to respond and engage more muscle firing to enable to keep balanced and to keep strong.
You can work on the floor to the BOSU, or from the top surface off and on. You can move through lots of movements adding challenge and intensity. Flip the BOSU over and take traditional exercises, like the press up & sit up, transfer them on to an unstable surface and straight away have a new level of intensity.
What are the benefits of using BOSU?
The payback to the user - as the actual surface of the BOSU is move whilst you work, it makes you more focused and more aware of how your body is doing. Therefore, if the board wobbles one side to another, you can see it and feel it, meaning you can actually rectify the situation.
So using a BOSU is going to increase the users body awareness, at the same time improving their balance, co-ordination and strength levels.
