Condenser Microphones
With all the advancements in audio devices that appeared since a while (audio playback devices, recording devices, listening devices), lots of improvements were made that affected both the performance and quality. Like similar audio devices, the recording devices sector did gain a lot of unexpected development in the technology. Well, when we do consider audio recording devices, the first kind of them is the microphone. Here Condenser Microphones you will read more about condenser microphones.
There are lots of various different types of microphones available in the world today. Thus we can find: ribbon microphones, dynamic microphones, condenser microphones, laser microphones, liquid microphones and piezoelectric microphones. In order to produce sounds, you should know that such condenser microphones are using a capacitor, with a diaphragm. The diaphragm of the condenser microphone will then vibrate, caused by the sound waves. Expect the distance between the plates of the capacitor to change. A current will then be produced and it will be recorded as a digital audio signal. Based on the charge of the capacitor plates, there are two types of condenser microphones; DC based condenser microphones and high frequency condenser microphones. Check here Best Microphones to get more information about the best microphones.
Condenser microphones are being developed as telephone microphones, cheap karaoke microphones, and even high-fidelity studio microphones. So they became more and more popular because they are the best type of microphones for recording environments. It is very important to use high quality microphones. This high quality is achieved thanks to the small mass of the diaphragm that needs to be moved by the sound wave in order to generate sound. The sound by itself will only do a small amount of work the moment it is going to generate a digital signal from the sound. It means that even the smallest of sounds can be captured by condenser microphones.
In order to work, those condenser microphones will require an external power source. This is due to the capacitor needing electricity to maintain the charges carried by the plates. Condenser microphones generally gain this power from whatever recording device they are connected to, or from batteries that will be included within the microphone itself. The impedance controlling microchips also require some form of power which will be supplied through batteries or AC power.
As they are the most diverse and easy to use, condenser microphones are recommended for use for any recording situation.
How do I hook a ribbon microphone to an individual speaker? Do I have to use a pre amp?
I want to hook up a ribbon broadcast microphone to a pair of home speakers. I don't want to buy any expensive mixing boards or anything along those lines. What is the cheapest easiest set-up I can use to hook up the microphone?
Here is an example of the mic I have:

thanks for your help
i want to the mic to work like a PA system. I am going to have the microphone in one room and the speaker set up in another. This is for an art installation. thanks for everyone's help! Any other helpful suggestions will be greatly appreciated
If I were to use this small mixer

in conjunction with this amplifier:

could I have the mic live wired to the speaker system?
If the mic has a regular XLR mic connector, it will be easy. Here is the connector:

I don't think that very old mic has that connector but pretty much everything uses that connector now. You may be able to adapt your connector to that type.
Anyway that will be your biggest hurdle. After that, you'll need a preamp and amplifier which is sometimes called a powered mixer. You cannot connect a mic to a speaker directly - it will not work. Sorry, there is not a really cheap way to do this.

If you buy any device with "phantom power" do not turn it on. It will damage the mic.
Latest innovations from Blue Microphones impress at CES (Gizmag Emerging Technology Magazine)
We have to admit to being rather thrilled at discovering the Mikey for Flip
and the Yeti Pro USB microphones from Blue at last year's CES, and were hoping
for something just as good this year. We were not disappointed. The company
has just debuted the Apple-centric Mikey Digital, the studio-grade Spark
Digital and the cute as a button (but not actually sporting any) Tiki in Las
Vegas this week... Continue Reading Latest innovations from Blue Microphones
