Vox Valvetronix AD30VT: The Best Amp
The Vox Valvetronix AD30VT is the sibling of the latest series of low wattage Valvetronix amps from Vox. This includes 15 watt AD15VT as well as AD50VT. The AD30Vt is backed by the manufacturers with lot of powerful modeling capabilities and digital effects in a compact package at affordable prices.
There are seven knobs on the AD30VT faceplate. The EFFECTS knob allows the user to select the eleven-built in digital effects or combinations. The master knob in the faceplate allows the individual to control the overall volume of the amp and distortion that results of the valve reactor power section. The effects section and operating modes have different buttons or knobs to facilitate easy usage for the individual. Apart from these there are also gain knobs, Effects knob which control the amount of gain for the selected model and select any one of the built-in digital effects or combination respectively. There is also volume knob for volume control and bass knob for EQ controls too.
The three operating mode of the Vox Valvetronix AD30VT is the preset mode, channel select mode and the manual mode. Selecting the preset button places the amp in preset mode. The channel select mode helps the individual to store two of their own creations as user preset. This mode allows the user to use the option of VFS2 dual foot switch to toggle between the clean and distorted rhythm and lead of the own creation. The final mode is he manual mode, this mode bypasses all the other preset and allows the user to take control of everything just like tune amp.
The technology behind the Vox Valvetronix amp is digital modeling technology. This technology helps in creation of basic tones of eleven modeled amps and allows the tones to pass through the analog power section which uses 12AX7 tube and virtual output transformer that provides the character of a real tube power circuit amp. This circuit design is patented and can be found only in Vox Valvetronix amps. The primary goal of the Vox Valvetronix is to recreate the tone and feel of a real tube amp.
Are my bulbs safe from the tranny?! (
I have 16 1.5v bulbs in parallel with a 6VDC 150mA output transformer.
I assume each bulb is getting 6V through it but only 9.375mA. It gives the brightness i'm after but is this safe for the bulbs?
Cheers!
tranny means what?
A transformer cannot supply 6 VDC, transformers work with AC only.
Assuming you mean you have a 6 VDC power supply...
If the 16 bulbs are really in parallel, and the supply is really delivering 6 volts, all the bulbs will burn out in less than a second. Parallel means they are each getting 6 volts, 4 times the rating.
So either the bulbs are actually 6 volt bulbs or the supply is being overloaded and delivering about 1.5 volts, or the bulbs are actually in series parallel connection. Use your voltmenter.
Where did you get the 9.375mA number? and where did you find an ammeter accurate to 0.01%, which the number implies?
