Being a DJ is worth a try
It is of course true that you can buy DJ software for use in the home nowadays. EJ is somethng that many schools like to use as a bit of end of term fun or even sometimes used in music class of course if you are a proffessional there are more sophisticated products out there.
The only real problem with this is that they tend to be pretty expensive so the question is, are the expensive price tags worth it? Well if of course wanting to be a DJ is something you have always wanted to do then it comes without saying that the technology is worth the money.
Native Instruments TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO is one of the major brands to look at. What comes with this package is a comprehensive library of ready to scratch sounds. Over 700 MB of sounds recorded in 24 bit / 96 kHz audio quality as well as including hundreds sounds for solo scratching as well as sound FX, tunes for juggling, loops and more. The pricing for this is quite steep at around £500 but you do get a lot for the money.
Of course if you cannot afford this or are not that interested in being a DJ but always wanted to have a go at it then Activision are releasing a gaming equivalent of DJ equipment this fall. With the huge success of Guitar Hero Wolrd Tour they seem to have taken the art of being a DJ into their hands and by the looks of it so far it is shaping up very nicely indeed. The game has been said to include all the major artists of both past and present so it provided people with a range of the music. An added bonus of this game is that the guitar controller is being made available to use in the game too.
So if you are interested in being a DJ whether it is real serious Disco Jockeying you are into or even the gaming partner there is something out there for you, of course there is always the M-audio out there as well to help with those drum beats.
Native Instruments Traktor 3 BPM problem...?
When I'm getting it to find the BPM's on hip hop songs alot of the files are showing double the BPM value that it should... for example 180BPM when it should be 90BPM. Anyone know how to correct this?
It's just showing it in double time it's not necessarily wrong.....try seeing if there's an option to take it in a difrent time stamp......ex. instead of 2/4....4/4
btw I don't know what program your using just saw no one responded and thought I would help out.....

Japan's Satoshi Tomiie, of Saw Recordings, walks viewers through his new iOS-
enabled DJ setup, which utilizes two iPads with Native Instruments' Traktor in
order to afford full hands-on control over key parameters. An additional
iPhone gives him that goes-to-11 extra bump. Tomiie recently remixed Guti's
"Keep It" for Saw Recordings; check it here, and don't miss Tomiie's most
