Ableton Live 8 - An Astounding Component Of Music Software
Ableton Live 8 is an incredibly powerful and intuitive piece of music production and recording software. Since it's release in 2001 it quickly became and remained one of the most widely used pieces of software for bands and electronic musicians, as well as being used as a primary or secondary tool for DJs to either add samples to their mixes or even allowing them to perform entirely in Ableton. Now in it's 8th edition it is a very impressive and successful piece of software. Here's an Ableton Live 8 review.
For the most part, the music production aspect of the program relies on loops, musicians either load pre-made samples onto a track which Ableton then automatically loops, or create their own loops using synthesizers for arrangement. The software includes a number of synths and drum machines that are fairly simple to use, but using 3rd party software is also fairly easy. Adding to the ease of use is the excellent compatibility that Live 8 now provides with all of the major plugin formats such as VST, rex, and so on covered. It is also fully compatible with Re-Wire running as a slave or master device. Unlike the earlier editions, Ableton Live 8 is generally compatible with the vast majority of software and hardware related to music, providing a full studio.
Additionally, ReWire can be easily used with Ableton, working as either a slave or master device is no problem. External controllers, sound cards and so on are also highly unlikely to experience compatibility issues. This is not something that users need to worry about for any type of music or music production. It's simplicity is at times deceptive.
Recording music is also not only simple but also provides excellent quality playback allowing you to get the perfect take. Sound recordings are quickly and automatically converted into audio files allowing artists to view and record their editing digitally with ease. Recording music or sounds and then arranging them or simply reproducing a live performance and rendering it to a sound file with ease.
Although the software is incredibly simple to learn and operate, this can be deceptive at times as users can forget that they are using an incredibly powerful sound engine. Although most people can learn the basics in a few afternoons, making music that can do it justice remains unattainable for all but a few.
As a tool for live performance it is also developing into a serious option which can be used by DJs simply to mix music or as an instrument itself with specialized controllers which allowing fast access to hundreds of samples which can be mixed and edited on the fly producing some incredible sets and pieces of music. It is also a fairly safe platform with crashes and bugs incredibly rare. This was a complaint often made about earlier versions but with this edition they seem to finally have all of the crashes and bugs ironed out of the system.
In summary, Ableton Live 8 is a worthy representative of the series 10 year history of excellent incredibly and intuitive and professional quality music production and DJ software. You can search online for other DJ equipment.
